BINGHAM — Mabel L. McClung, 81, of Bingham, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011, at her home following a long illness.
Born Nov. 28, 1929, in Fort Blackmore, Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Lucinda Light Poole.
Mabel was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. McClung; five brothers, Joe, Russell, Glen, Jack, and Rev. Albert; and a great-granddaughter, Tayler Lehmiller.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann Hinkle (Scott) of Tamassee, S.C., Susie Wilder (Al) of Kingsport, Tenn., and Nancy Hundley (Jeff) of Charmco, W.Va.; four sons, Mike McClung (Betty) of Culpeper, Va., Buster McClung (Sharon) of Orient Hill, W.Va., J.D. McClung (Sherre) of Lookout, W.Va., and Billy McClung (Ginger) of Leslie, W.Va.; a sister, Merle Harrell (Troy) of Rogersville, Tenn.; two brothers, Jim Poole (Deb) of Kingsport, Tenn., and Sam Poole (Judy) of Nickelsville, Va.; 15 grandchildren, Molly, Mark, Peggy, Scott Jr., Jeremy, Christine, Stephanie, Pam, Crystal, Jennifer, Amanda, James Jr. "Bubby," Susan, B.J., CaliJune; 19 great-grandchildren, Miranda, Christian, Justin, Savannah, Mariah, Chelsie, Sarah, Nicole, Amber, Sabrina, Jalen, Sarah Bradley, Krislyn, Makenna, Braelyn, Logan, Brendan, Zac, and Bella; two stepgrandchildren, Shannon and Shawn; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Bobby, Lina, Austin, and Christian; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with the Rev. Paul E. Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the funeral home.
