  The Greenbrier Independent, Friday, 2 March 1934 DIED IN NORTH DAKOTA On Thursday last a message was received by Mrs. Lewis Stuart announcing the death of Billy McClung, young son of Richard E. and Elsie McClung of Cleveland, N.D. He was ill one week, and passed away after an operation for appendicitis at a hospital in Fargo, N.D., aged 8 years. He was a very lovable and attractive child, a grandson and namesake of Col. William W. McClung of Hughart, this county. Besides his parents he leaves two half-brothers and three half-sisters, with a large number of relatives in Greenbrier, who sorrow with the family. Col. McClung was celebrating his eighty-eighth birthday when the sad news was received.
