MRS. BETTY S. BURNS, 83, OF Quinwood, Greenbrier County, died Jan. 12, 1987, in a Low Moor, Va. , hospital after a long illness. She was a member of Apostolic Jesus Name Church, Rainelle. Surviving: daughters, Lorene McClung of Marfrance, Colene Merchant of Conneaut, Ohio, Velma Carnell of Brook Park, Ohio, Jean Willis of Victor; sons, Chester Pittsenbarger, Elmer Pittsenbarger and Jennings Ash, all of Albion, Pa., Billy Ash of Marfrance, Lawrence Ash of Tukwila, Wash.; brother, Ned Stokes of Craigsville; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle with the Rev. Tacy Black officiating. Burial will be in Carl Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Remarried to Charles Henry Burns on 6 June 1946.
