RAINELLE ? Sandra ?Sandy? Manspile, 58, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, in Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born Oct. 10, 1946, in Rainelle, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Sue Vickers Walker.
Mrs. Manspile, better known as Sandy, worked as a caregiver, was an Avon representative for 25 years, worked with the Meadow River Swim Club, was a member of Rainelle First Baptist Church, the Ladies? Auxiliary VFW Post No. 4484, Greenbrier County Kickers, Sewell Valley Rebekah Lodge No. 217 and the Greenbrier County Democratic Executive Committee.
She was the Democratic Woman of the Year in 2005-2006. Sandy was famous for her spirit of volunteerism. She volunteered for many of the local school and community groups throughout the years.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Eugene ?Tooter? Walker, and a sister, Martha Harrington.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry ?Buz? Manspile; a son, Jerry ?Fuzzy? Manspile Jr. of Rainelle; four daughters, ?Mandy? Bryant and husband, Jeffrey D., of Rainelle, Wendy McGraw and husband, Ben, of Rainelle, Sgt. Andrea ?Andy? Manspile of Lampasas, Texas, and Melinda ?Mindy? Manspile of Honolulu, Hawaii; two sisters, Gingy Manspile and husband, Frank ?Konk,? of Rainelle and Genie ?Bug? McCombs and husband, Bob, of Kingston, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Cody Andrew Bryant, Ethan Chase Bryant, Emmarie Kate Bryant and Sandra Ryleigh McGraw, all of Rainelle.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Keith Shumaker officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
