SPARTA, N.C. -- Norma Jean Boothe McClung, 68, formerly of Rupert, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2005 in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta, N.C., following a long illness.
Born on July 1, 1937, at Anjean, she was the daughter of the late John Boothe and Rachel Boothe Shafer of White Sulphur Springs.
Mrs. McClung was a homemaker, a retired textile worker and of Protestant faith.
She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Sue Royal; a brother, John Boothe; and two sisters, Linda Smith and Ilene Billingsly.
Survivors include one son, Ricky Royal and wife, Margaret, of Glade Valley, N.C.; three daughters, Victoria Lee Owens of Brady, Texas, Donna Rae Bouclelle of Sparta, N.C., and Wendy Ann Tally and husband, Joe, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; four stepsons, Terry McClung and wife, Rachel, of Danese, Larry Joe McClung and wife, Marlene, of Orlando, Fla., John McClung of Fredericksburg, Va., and Wally McClung III and wife, Kathy, of Spotsylvania, Va.; three stepdaughters, Nancy Brown and husband, Carlton, Gale Fleming and husband, Chris, and Donna Hall, all of Fredericksburg, Va.; a brother, Danny Boothe and wife, Diedre, of Leslie; two sisters, Twyla Lilly and husband, Vincent, of Elkton, Md., and Pam Tolley and husband, Sherman, of White Sulphur Springs; four grandchildren, 15 stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Service will be 12 noon Saturday at Smathers Funeral Chapel with stepson Terry Lee McClung officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home.
