CHARMCO ? Imogene Pearl Herndon, 77, of Charmco, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 26, 2010, at her home following a long illness.
Born January 28, 1933, in Charmco, she was the daughter of the late Glen Lake and Ina Pearl McClung.
Imogene was a member of the Highland First Church of God in Rainelle. We have lost and heaven has gained, our most beautiful angel. The most caring, giving, loving, hardest working, strongest child of God we know.
Our hearts are all broken. We are so lost without her. Words cannot express the love and admiration we have for our mother or the hurt, because of the hole in our hearts, now that she is gone. Mom was loved by all who knew her. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She worked so hard all of her life, not for herself, but for the Lord and her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D.R. Herndon, four brothers, Charles Arless McClung, Levi Earl McClung, Glen Lake McClung, II, and Lewis Edward McClung, and two sisters, Arlene Jane McClung and Eva Myrl McClung.
Survivors include five daughters, Rita Jean Drennen and husband, Edward, of Clintonville, Janey Lynn Bowling and husband, James, of Rainelle, Rebecca Faye Wehling of Florida, Lisa Marie Holstein and husband, David, of Beckley, and Melinda Gail Parker and husband, Kevin, of Charmco; four sons, John Delano Herndon and wife, Diana, of Denver, N.C., Steven Darrell Herndon and wife, Paula, of Summersville, William Harold Herndon and wife, Mary, of Charmco and Joseph David Herndon of Rupert; eight sisters, Mary Evelyn Goodson of Rainelle, Bonnie Mae Fowler of Charmco, Ruby Lou Herndon of Mannington, Barbara Ann McClung of Rainelle, Nancy Leta Haddix of Fairmont, Agnes Louis Bowyer of Caldwell, Jane Faye Woods of Fairmont, and Millie June Evans of Amherst, Ohio; twenty-five grandchildren, Travis Herndon, Eric Herndon, Edward Drennen, II, Joshua Drennen, Justin Drennen, Brittany Drennen, Michael Herndon, Erica Herndon, Brandi Brown, Caitlin Herndon, Nicholle Bowling, Jimbob Bowling, Heather D. Pafford, Rochelle Wehling, Christopher Avis, Roger Herndon, Zachary Holstein, Savanah Holstein, Emma Holstein, Ethan Holstein, Joseph Herndon, II, Autumn Herndon, Aaron Parker, Tyler Parker, Trent Parker; fifteen great-grandchildren.
