LEWISBURG ? Earnestine Hedrick McClung, 83, died March 19, 2009, on her birthday at her home. Earnestine was the daughter of the late Lacy Gordon and Ada Burdette Hedrick and was born March 19, 1926, in Monroe County, W.Va.
Earnestine was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Eugene McClung; son, Dr. David McClung; daughter, Patty Nemitz; and brother, Lacy Gordon Hedrick Jr.
Survivors include her sister, Nancy H. Arbaugh of Ronceverte; son, Dr. Richard McClung and wife, Ann, of Lewisburg; son-in-law, Dr. James Nemitz of Lewisburg; daughter-in-law, Debra McClung of Lewisburg. Grandchildren, Mark McClung, Christopher McClung and wife, Angie, Jennifer McClung, Justin McClung and Julianna Nemitz Quick and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren include Bethany McClung, Merritt McClung, and Rowan McClung. Special caregivers were Sue Wilson, Brenda Zimmerman, Jennifer Feury, Louise Highlander and Ruthie Highlander.
Earnestine was a graduate of Greenbrier High School and earned a degree in Mathematics from Concord College. She taught school in Durham, N.C., was co-owner and operator of Camp Shaw-Mi-Del-Eca, and was office manager of her husband?s medical practice. She was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church and served as Treasurer of the Lewisburg United Methodist Women.

Private family burial will be at Rosewood Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009, with Dr. Joseph Kenaston and the Rev. Jeffery Kanode officiating. Immediately following the memorial service, the family will receive friends at a reception hosted by the United Methodist Women.
