RAINELLE ? JoAnn McClung Allport, 72, of Rainelle, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, Dec. 10, 2007, at her home following a long illness.
Born May 28, 1935, at Big Mountain Road, Rupert, she was the daughter of the late Elmer B. and Cathleen Dorsey McClung.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Allport; two daughters, Carolyn Allport Martin and Jonelle Carter Workman; a brother, Homer McClung; and two sis-ters, Majorie McClung and Barbara Golden.
She was employed at numerous restaurants own-ed by her cherished friends, Mary and Hub Lively. She also worked at Crawford?s Superette of Charmco.
She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Nathaniel Carter of Rainelle; two daughters, Annett McGuire and husband, Pat, of Rainelle and Kathy Rhodenizer of Rainelle; two sisters, Donna Brown O?Dell and husband, Gerald, of Suffolk, Va., and Margaret A. Olson of Duluth, Minn.; and three precious grandsons, Greg Rhodenizer of Ferrum, Va., Michael McGuire of Rainelle and Collin Workman of Lewisburg.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle, with Pastor Aaron Davidson officiating, assisted by Pastor Michael Davis. Burial will be at Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Big Mountain Road, Rupert.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
