WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS — Todd T. McClung, 85, died March 3, 2010, in Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, following a short illness.
Born May 20, 1924, at Hugart, W.Va., he was the son of the late Bernard and Becky (McFerrin) McClung.
He was a member of Bascom Methodist Church at Rupert and a graduate of Williamsburg High School.
Mr. McClung served two years in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was retired from the United Mine Workers of America. He was self employed and owned a landscaping business.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hanson McClung; three brothers, Bill, Harry and Garland McClung and a sister, Margaret Simmons.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Eggleston) McClung; daughter, Brenda Cutts; son, Joseph McClung and wife, Gail; son, Sherman McClung and wife Carol; stepdaughter, Becky Terry; stepson, David Terry and wife Bev, Marvin Terry and wife Vickie. Eight grandchildren, Matthew and wife Stephanie McClung, Timmy and wife, Letty, Patrick and wife, Kalea, Chance Terry, Darrel and Amber McClung, Kimberly McClung, Amy Terry and Kimberly Brackenridge; three great-grandchildren, Harley, Megan and Michael McClung. Brother and sister-in-laws, Charles and Doris Eggleston, Junior Eggleston, Homer and Audrey Eggleston, Earl and Thelma Hanson; sisters-in-law, Maxine and Joe Sims, Madeline and Carl Cutlip and Marie Patterson.
Todd leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity. He would always go the extra mile to assist someone in need. He loved his family and enjoyed the outdoors and will be remembered for his sense of humor and loving, caring spirit.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the McCraw Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial in Wallace Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
