Oak Hill Resident Dies In Hospital
OAK HILL (RNS) - Funeral services for Lewis D. McClung, 75, of 220 Second St., Oak Hill, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel here by the Rev. Hilbert McClung of Beckley.
Burial will be in Hill Top Cemetery.
McClung died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday in a Beckley hospital after a one-year illness. He was a retired employe of the New River Coal Co. at Skelton and a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at Mount Lookout.
Born in Nicholas County, Sept. 25, 1883, the deceased formerly lived at Skelton and Mount Hope.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie; four sons, Ernest of Skelton, Max of Mount Hope, Paul of Harlan, Ky., and C. P. of Moorehaven, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Hess of Beckley; a stepson, Jess Cantley of Canton, Ohio; five brothers, J. I. of Minden, Kelly and Shelor, both of Nallon, Duffy of Arkansas, and Horatious of Oak Hill; four sisters, Mrs. J. H. Legg of North Bend, Wash., Mrs. Leslie Hazlett of Oak Hill, Mrs. Goldie Sullivan of Ansted, and Mrs. Prama Grose of Alta; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be W. T. Canterbury, Ernest Chandler, Emmelt Nichols, C. D. Williams, L. R. Nobel, and Lewis Hammonds.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. today.
