  The Charleston Gazette, 12 November 1988 Mrs. Vergie Marie Gilkeson, 62, of Rupert, Greenbrier County, died Nov. 11, 1988, at home after a short illness. She was a 30-year resident of Rupert. She was a custodian for Rupert Post Office. Surviving: daughter, Merlene Sue Kanove of Hines; sons, David Lee of Rupert, Paul Raymond of Covington, Va.; sister, Lorene Crowe of Charmco; four grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Mark Seacrist officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, near Clintonville. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
