NETTIE - Janet Lorraine McClung, 72, formerly of Green Valley, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 26, 2002, at home following a long illness.
Born Aug. 17, 1930, at Rupert, she was the daughter of the late Fitz Jurl and Marguerite Yoakum McClung.
She was a homemaker, loving mother and wife, a blessed Christian and a member of Orient Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Ann McClung; and two brothers, Everette and Gene McClung.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Preston "Bill"; a daughter, Esta Jane Amick and husband, Raymond "Keith," of Leivasy, formerly of Sissonville; four sons, Donald Preston McClung and wife, Delores, of Sylvester, Ronald Michael McClung and wife, Susan, of Greensboro, N.C., William Dale McClung and wife, Judy, of Tampa, Fla., and Lloyd Dwayne McClung and wife, Debra, of Nettie; a sister, Frances Gladwell of Martinsburg; three brothers, David McClung of Martinsburg, Neal McClung of Rupert and Byrne McClung of Neillsville, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many dear and precious friends and loved ones.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smathers Funeral Cha-pel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Shirley Hellms officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Cemetery, Carl. Service will conclude with the release of the White Flights.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
