Brandon Milton Smith born March 30, 1999, passed away in the arms of his mother on July 14, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, after a life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
Brandon loved to hunt, fish, and ride his four wheelers. He loved the outdoors. Even in the last few weeks of his life he told his grandmother Diana that he wanted to go live in the woods. Brandon was a very tough little man, a warrior if you will. He was strong even to the very end.
He was proceeded in death by his grandfathers Clyde Milton Wickline and William "Bill" Miller.
Surviving him are his parents Claudette M. Smith of Crawley, W.Va., and Vincent E. Smith of Clarksburg, W.Va. Sisters Carla M. Dempsey of Crawley, Alisha Smith of Harrisonburg Va., brothers, his twin, Vincent E. Smith Jr. of Crawely, Kendon W. Sutherland of Petersburg W.Va., nieces Payten M. Nesselrodt of Crawley, Genesis Kobetic of Brandywine W.Va. and William Sutherland of Harrisonburg, Va. His grandparents, maternal grandmother Diana Miller of Crawley; paternal grandmother Pat Roy of Upper Tract, and paternal grandfather Everette Smith of Morgantown. Aunts Dorothea M. Wickline of Lewisburg, Kledith M. Weakley of Kansas, Vonda Borrer of Franklin, W.Va. and his uncle William Roy Wickline of Crawley. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and friends at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., Greenbrier Valley Hospital in Ronceverte, W.Va. and the kind, compassionate staff of Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, W.Va. A very special thank you to Dr. Katherine Moffett. Brandon will be greatly missed by many.
Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Rev. Kerry Workman officiating. Burial will follow at Old Amwell Cemetery at Crawley.
Friends may gather with the family one hour prior to the service (1 to 2 p.m.), at the funeral home.
