  The Charleston Gazette, 6 November 1999 LEWISBURG - Mary Alice Patton Burgess, 81, of Lewisburg died Nov. 5, 1999, at home after a long illness. She was a member of Shuck Memorial Baptist Church, Lewisburg, and the Lewisburg United Prayer Group. She was a retired cosmetics clerk from Coleman's Pharmacy. Surviving: daughter, Anita Burgess Shaver of Lewisburg; brothers, Charles Patton of Ronceverte, Gene of Pueblo, Colo.; two grandsons. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Shuck Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Miller officiating. Burial will be in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Lewisburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Scholarship Fund, c/o Shuck Memorial Baptist Church or to Greenbrier Valley Hospice.
