PLANT DEAD

Father of Two Clarksburg Residents Dies in City of Parkersburg.

PARKERSBURG, Aug. 5 - W. F. Plant, one of the most prominent residents of Calhoun county and for many years a resident of Grantsville, died Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph's hospital here Mr. Plant had been suffering for some time with diabetes, which was the cause of his death. The deceased man was 47 years of age. He is survived by six children as follows: Mrs. L. Barnes, of Clarksburg; Mrs. Nettie Welch, of Clarksburg; J. J. Plant, of Richwood; Miss Ora Ash, of White, Pine, Calhoun county; Mrs. Mary Geho and Marshall Plant, of Calhoun county.

Mr. Plant was brought here several weeks ago for treatment but despite the constant care and treatment his condition grew gradually worse. The deceased man was held in the highest esteem in Calhoun county where he was well known and his death will be learned of there with deepest regret. The body of the dead man was removed to the undertaking establishment of Carney, Jackson and Enoch, where it was prepared for burial and sent to Grantsville Monday afternoon on the steamer, Louise. The funeral services were held at Grantsville probably Tuesday afternoon.
