Luster Clark McCutcheon, III, age 59, of Solomon's Island, Maryland, and formerly of Gaithersburg, Maryland, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002.
Born in Marlinton, he was the son of Elizabeth Oliver McCutcheon and the late Luster Clark McCutcheon, Jr.
He moved to Gaithersburg in 1951. He graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1961 and attended West Virginia University.
After serving active duty for the U.S. Army, he worked briefly for the U.S. Post Office before beginning an active career with Gaithersburg Washington Grove Fire Department. He ended his 17-year career as chief administrative officer in 1982. While working for the fire department he was an Erie Insurance Agent, owning and operating the McCutcheon Insurance Company until his death.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Carol McCutcheon; two children, Darrin McCutcheon and Laurie Mudd; two stepchildren, Laura Best and J.D. Edwards; a brother, James McCutcheon,; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held December 6 at Epworth United Methodist Church, Gaithersburg.
