CRAWLEY - Elsie Murphy Crane, 78, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at Montgomery General Elderly Care following an extended illness. She is survived by her husband, Charles Harold Crane; her two daughters, Janet Tharp of Glasgow and Patricia Dengel of Woodbridge, Va.; her two grrandchildren, Melissa Buckley of Glasgow and Patrick Jorgensen of Woodbridge; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Buckley; three sisters, Edith Stanley of Princeton, Joyce Bowyers of Bluewell and Maxine Deel of Belcamp, Md.; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles Herndon Murphy Jr. of Bluewell and Donald Ray Murphy of Indiana; and her sister, Gladys Murphy Barlow of Bluewell. She was a member of Big Clear Creek Baptist Church, Rupert, where she taught Sunday school classes for over 20 years and was an active member of the American Baptist Women's Missionary Society. She also belonged to the Crawley Homemaker's Club. Service will be noon Monday at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, Cedar Grove, with the Rev. John Massey officiating. Entombment will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Glasgow. Friends may call one hour before service Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Elsie Crane. Arrangements by Cooke Funeral Home, Cedar Grove.
