Milam Funeral Set Wednesday
Funeral services for Lewis Crockett Milam, 77, of Arnett, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Arnett Chapel, with the Rev. Leslie Garten officiating, assisted by the Rev. Wade Webb and the Rev. John Richardson. Burial will be in the Milam Cemetery, Saxon.
Milam died at 2 a.m. Monday following a lengthy illness.
Born May 11, 1884, he was a son of the late John and Cynthia Webb Milam. He was a retired miner, a member of the Arnett Chapel, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margie Milam, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Edna Sarrett of Akron, Ohio; one son, Norvell Milam of Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Narcissus Webb of Madisonville, Ky. and Mrs. Glena Cook of Dorothy; four brothers, Chris of Belle, Sidney of Crawley, Freda of Eccles, and Everett of Glen Daniel; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Melton Mortuary, where friends may call after 4 p.m. today, and will be removed to the church at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Freelan Webb, Woodrow Harris, Omar Acord, Warren Jarrell, Ernest Cooper and Other Sarrett.
