Wooster Newman McClung, died on Nov. 11, at the home of his son, Herman, at Zenith, Monroe county. He was born April 13, 1856, his age being, 87 years, 6 months and 28 days. He was united in marriage to Sarah Elizabeth Anderson on March 22, l881. To this union eight children were born, six sons and two daughters, as follows: Hubert W. of Hico, Houston E. of Montgomery, Herman O. of Zenith, Harold G. with the U. S. navy, Holden B. with the U. S. army, Hill A. deceased, Hattie E. Miller of Narrows, Va., and Hessie H. Campbell of Hico.
His wife and oldest son Hill, preceded him to the grave.
He leaves to mourn his departure, besides the children, two brothers and two sisters: Rev. E. E. McClung of East Rainelle, U. G. McClung of Crawley, Mrs. E. F. Dietz of Hico, and Mrs. A. C. Nelson of Winona, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. McClung was a member of the Sunday Road Baptst church at Hico, also a member of the I.O.O.F. at East Rainelle.
He lived a faithful and consistent Christian life and was honored and respected by all who knew him. He surely will be missed but our loss has been Heaven's gain.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. L. Crane of Rupert and were held at Valley church, Zenith, on Sunday, Nov. 14, after which burial followed at old Amwell cemetery near Crawley.
