James H. "Jim" Crane, 45, of Nitro died March 24, 1999, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a short illness.
He was director of purchasing for Williams Union Boiler Co., Nitro, a member and Sunday School teacher of Humphreys United Methodist Church, Tornado, a member of Kanawha Valley Emmaus, chairperson of the Chrysalis board of directors, a member of the Gideon Society, received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Marshall University and was currently attending the graduate college at Marshall.
Surviving: fiance, Carol Mitchell of Kent State University; daughter, Stephanie Crane of Hurricane; stepdaughter, Heather Gough of Morgantown; stepson, Chad Gough of Tennessee; parents, James and Hilda Crane of Crawley; maternal grandparents, Verna Sheppard of Crawley; sister, Brenda Brooks of Crawley.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cooke Funeral Home, Nitro, with the Rev. Don Maxson and the Rev. Frank "Tex" Frye officiating. Entombment will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
