BEARDS FORK - Lackie V. Banton, 84, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, in Cashville, Va., at the home of her family.
Born Nov. 15, 1919, at Rainelle, she was the daughter of the late Tony L. and Alzina Propps Crane.
Mrs. Banton was a homemaker and former Postmistress at Beards Fork. She was a member of the Page Baptist Church at Page.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Banton in 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Myrna van der Spuy and her husband, Ben of Cashville, Va. and Angela Reed and her husband, James of Beards Fork; a son, Steve Banton and his wife, Jean of DeLand, Fla.; five sisters, Arthena Redden, Martha Crane, Mary Alice Boothe and Charlotte Marie Boothe, all of Orient Hill, and Iva Brown of Rainelle; three beloved sisters-in-law, Lois Crane of Upper Marlboro, Md., Betty Oliver and Nina Martin, both of Lewisburg; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
