Stephen Morris Roby, 55, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005, at St. Vincent's Hospital following an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Averill Morris Roby and Lee Ana McCutcheon Jarrett. His grandparents were the late Dee and Ruby Roby and the late Bernard and Beck McCutcheon.
Stephen is survived by his stepfather, Dr. Homer Jarrett; sister, Linda Roby Short, and niece, Lynn Meadows, all of Narrows, Va.; niece, Dee Ann Acord of Pembroke, Va.; and Aunt Martha McCutcheon Perilli of Summersville.
Stephen was born July 2, 1949, in Richwood. He graduated from Charleston High School, attended Marshall University and held a B.A. degree from Morris Harvey College. He served in the U.S. Army with the Military Police. He was currently employed with JP Morgan Chase, Jacksonville, as a mortgage underwriter.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Walker Memorial Park, Summersville.
