B. N. McCutcheon, Banker In Summersville, Dies
SUMMERSVILLE - Bernard N. McCutcheon, president of Nicholas County Bank here, died Friday.
Mr. McCutcheon, 66, of Summersville, died in St. Francis Hospital.
He was a native of Richwood and attended Nicholas County schools and Mountain State Business College in Parkersburg.
Mr. McCutcheon began his banking career at Nicholas County Bank where he was employeed 44 tears.
He was newly elected president of the West Virginia Bankers Assn., director of West Virginia Development Corp., director in the Laird Foundation, past president of the Summersville Chamber of Commerce and was third vice president of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. McCutcheon was a past chairman of Group IV of the West Virginia Bankers Assn. and had served on several other committees of the association.
He was a member of the Executive Council of American Bankers Assn., and was a member and regional director of the American Bankers Association Savings Bond Committee.
A past president of the Summersville Lions Club, he was an elder and clerk of the Summersville Presbyterian Church, past president of the Summersville Lions Club, a member of the Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge and Shrine and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Surviving: wife, Nola Dotson McCutcheon; daughters, Mrs. Lee Ann Jarrett and Mrs. Martha Perilli, both of Charleston; sons, L. N. II and Donald J., both of Summersville, James B. of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Mrs. Eugenia McCutcheon of Charleston; 10 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Summersville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert D. Burch officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park in Summersville.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Summersville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
