Goldie H. McGown, 80, of Pax, Fayette County, died Sept. 27, 1998, in Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, after a long illness. She was a former restaurant owner, a Baptist, a former member of the Suburban Homemakers Club, Bradley, and last worked at Kelly's Korner restaurant, Oak Hill. Surviving: sons, Wilbur Lee "Jack" McGown of Mansfield, Mass., H. Thomas McGown of Reisterstown, Md.; daughters, Phyllis Kelly of Pax, Nellie Hudson of Oak Hill; stepsister, Lillie Dillon of Mount Tabor; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Rose-Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Rev. Bill Parker officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.
