CRAWLEY - Jack R. Wheeler, 78, died Friday, April 26, 2002, at home following a short illness.
Born Oct. 25, 1923, in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Frank and Effie Jackson Wheeler.
Mr. Wheeler was employed by Mod-U-Kraf Homes Inc. of Rocky Mount, Va., attended Old Stone Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg, and was a life member of the Rupert Rotary Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elouise Walkup Wheeler, on June 23, 2000; three sisters, Katherine Barker, Mabel New and Grace Mosser; and a brother, James F. Wheeler.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacquelyn Wheeler Marshall and her husband, John C., of Houston; a grandson, Thomas Wheeler Hopkins of Houston; three sisters, Goldie Snyder of Ashland, Ky., Thelma Wilkinson of Lavalette and Marguerite Williams of Ellicott City, Md.; and an aunt, Verna B. Sheppard of Crawley.
Service will be 2 p.m. today at Wallace Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Clintonville, with Dr. Dexter Taylor officiating. Burial will be at End of the Trail Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call 30 minutes before service today at the mausoleum chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of sympathy be made to B.S.A. Troop 70, c/o Cliff Baker, 133 Radar Road, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
