William E. Cunningham

Funeral services for William E. Cunningham, 67, of Newark, are a 1 p.m. Saturday at the Criss-Kirkpatrick Funeral Chaperl with Pastor James Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in Hanover Cemetery.
Mr. Cunningham, who worked as a machine operator for Rockwell for 32 years, died on Jan. 14, 1997, at his residence. He was born July 4, 1929, in Meadowbrook, W.Va., to William Ralph Cunningham of Elyria, Ohio, and the late Willa (King) Cunningham.
Mr. Cunningham served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie A. (Lindsey) Cunningham, whom he married in 1952; four daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Dave Hickman, Brenda and Michael Dunaway and Darla and Frank Lacy, all of Newark, and Jennifer Cunningham of Heath; son, William David Cunningham of Newark; six sisters, Alma Lease, Loretta Davis, and Marsha Norton, all of Newark, Dorothy Shipe of Elyria, Dora Jean Nichols of Lorain, Ohio, and Wanema Thomas of West Valley City, Utah; two brothers, Bill Cunningham of Oberlin, Ohio, and Virgil Cunningham of Willoughby, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A grandson preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 179 Granville St., Newark.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department, 2165 W. High St., N.E., Newark, Ohio 43055.
