DAWSON - Everett Earl Puckett, 93, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2005, at home following a long illness.
Born Aug. 1, 1911, at Vale, he was the last member of the late James Henry and Cora Hill Puckett family.
Mr. Puckett was a farmer and a member of the Sewell Valley Baptist Church in Rainelle.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Stuart McClung Puckett.
Survivors include his wife, Dessell Patterson Puckett; a stepson, Eugene Spade of Rainelle; two stepdaughters, Fern Carr and husband, Frankie, of Meadow Bridge and Jeroma Nothstine of Rainelle; five stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Jerry Gillespie of Dawson; and a host of friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Sewell Valley Baptist Church in Rainelle with Pastor Milton Ker and the Rev. Jim Yearego officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church and one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
Deacons of the church will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements by Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle.
