  The Beckley Register-Herald, Beckley, WV, 2 Oct 2012, Online Edition SMOOT — Gradie C. Legg, 74, of Meadow Bluff, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 29, 2012, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Ronceverte, following a short illness. Born June 2, 1938, at Rainelle, he was the son of the late Gradie B. and Elva Perkins Legg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Jackie Lee Legg and a great-granddaughter, Bella Counts. Gradie enjoyed hunting and training his dogs. He also liked to fish, and just being outdoors and up in the mountains. He is survived by his wife, Karen Carroll Legg of Meadow Bluff; four sons, Dwight Counts (Karen) of Fort Worth, Texas, Charlie Counts (Tammy) of Beaufort, S.C., John Counts (Sonjia) of Mossy, and Karl Legg of Meadow Bluff; three daughters, Gwen Webb (Terry) of Meadow Bluff, Lisa Harmon (Neal) of Knoxville, Tenn. and Kimberly Legg of Barboursville; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. As per his wishes, his body will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, will be serving the Legg family.
