Garnette Jean Cox. Garnette Jean Cox, 75, of 418 Cross St., Uhrichsville, O., died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, June 22, 2003, at 136 E. Mill St., Gnadenhutten, O., following a brief illness. Born Jan. 21, 1928, in Rainelle, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George W. Hunter and Bessie I. Osborne Hunter. On Dec 22, 1948, she married Ernest J. Cox, who died in 1985. In addition to her husband, father and mother, two brothers, Kermit and Kenny Hunter, and a sister, Ruby Hunter, are deceased. Surviving are two sons, Ernie Cox and wife Shirley of Dover and Garald G. Cox and wife Janet of Gnadenhutten; two daughters, Mrs. John (Judy) Comignaghi of Wainwright and Mrs. Dan (Cheryl) McMasters of Gnadenhutten; nine grandchildren, Beverly, Jennifer, Philip, Angie, D.J., Troy, Shawn, Danielle and Devin; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Hobbs of Rainelle, W.Va., Bonnie Knapp of Louisville, Ky., and Betty Fleshman of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, Quinton Hunter of Chicago, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Formerly of West Virginia, Garnette had been a resident of this area for 48 years. She was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal at Gnadenhutten. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Garnette had devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at 11 a.m. in R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home Inc. at Dennison, O., with Preacher James Hobbs Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover, O. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 24, 2003, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
