  CLINTONVILLE - Jessie James Piercy, 88, died Thursday, March 8, in a White Sulphur Springs care center, following a long illness. Born July 17, 1907, at Cornstalk, he was the son of late Andrew J. and Martha Henson Piercy. Mr. Piercy was a lifelong resident of Clintonville, was a member of the James Chapel United Methodist Church at Clintonville, was a charter member of the Clintonville Ruritan Club and a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife L. Prudence Piercy, two daughters, Barbara Stone of Clintonville and Janet McNeel of Hillsboro; two sons, James W. Piercy of Elkview and C.C. (Pete) Piercy of Fairlea; a brother A.K. Piercy of Fairlea; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the James Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. B.B. Mitchem, Leroy Crane and Garland Grove officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Saturday after 4 p.m. at the church. Any donations of sympathy may be made to the James Chapel United Methodist Church. The Longanacre Funeral Home in Fort Spring in in charge of the arrangements.
