MEADOW BLUFF ? Sherri Dee Baker, 48, left her earthly home on Monday, January 3, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer since 1995.
Born on December 16, 1962, she was the eldest daughter of David and Dale Riffey of Meadow Bluff.
Sherri was a homemaker. She was proud of her CNA license, but most proud of her role as a mother. She was a member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church where she attended when she was able.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Roy and Stella Hunter and her paternal grandparents, Ross and Julia Judy, all of Meadow Bluff.
Those left to cherish her memory with her parents are her son, Adam David Roberts (Telia Jones) of White Sulphur Springs; two daughters, Amanda Rose and Autumn Lynn Canfield, both of Ronceverte; one grandson, Syler Ray Means; her brother, Greg Riffey (Anna Scruggs) of Crawley; her sister, Vivian Davies (Sean) of Bennett Mountain; her brother, Jonathan Riffey (Ashley Underwood) of Crawley; nieces and nephews, Justin, Aaron and Ryan Riffey, Taylor, Nicholas and Mikayla Davies, Nathan and Ayden Blankenship, Chad, Matt and Mirissa Underwood; her loving maternal aunts and uncle and her large extended family.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Hospice family, the many health care workers and her cancer friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 6, at Smathers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Amwell Cemetery at Crawley.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, January 5, at the funeral home.
