Ex-Greenbrier Deputy Claimed
LEWISBURG ? George A. Hughart, 78, of Lewisburg, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ray Miller of Covington, Va., last night after a long illness.
Mr. Hughart was a lifelong resident of Greenbrier County and served as jailer and deputy sheriff in the county for 16 years.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie Tuckwiller Hughart; two other daughters, Mrs. Ola Piercy and Mrs. Pauline Sheppard, both of Fairlea; a brother, Boliver of St. Albans; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Piercy with the Rev. A. K. Whitesides officiating. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery at Maxwelton, Greenbrier County.
The body was to be removed to the home of Mrs. Piercy today at 10:30 from Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
