MAXWELTON - George Madison Scott, 85, of Maxwelton, formerly of Neola, died Jan. 26, 1998, in Greystone Landing, Lewisburg, after a long illness.
He was a member of Clifton Presbyterian Church, Maxwelton, a retired lieutenant from the State Police with 32 years' service and a member of the West Virginia Retired Troopers Association, Masonic Lodge 115, Madison, and Beni Kedem Shrine, Charleston.
Surviving: sons, George K. Scott of Murrysville, Robert W. Scott of Grove City, Ohio; brothers, William E. Scott of Sonora, Calif., James F. Scott of Maxwelton; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, with the Rev. Elizabeth McNain Ayscue officiating. Burial will be in Maxwelton Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
