Ettore Ivaldi Dies At 80
Ettore Ivaldi, 80, of 214 Cherry Ave. died in a local hospital Tuesday at 7:40 a.m. after a long illness.
Ivaldi was born in Asti, Italy, July 6, 1895, a son of the late Lodovico and Maria Corning Ivaldi. He was a retired coal miner and member of the United Mine Workers of America, District 29, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Beckley Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Mae Britt Ivaldi; two step-sons, Curtis G. Broughman, address unknown, and James E. Broughman of Nitro; a step-daughter, Mrs. Levinida M. Smith of Melvindale, Mich.; seven step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chanel by Rev. Gerald Church and Rev. R.E. Pedigo. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
