Greenbrier Co., WV Deed Book 178, p. 535 shows that name was changed from Allen Wert Edward Moses to Wert Edward Moses. The Charleston Gazette, 28 February 1975 RAINELLE - Wert Edward Moses, 85, of Rainelle, died Thursday in Greenbrier Valley Hospital, Fairlea, after a long illness. He was a retired miner and merchant, and attended the Sewell Valley Baptist Church. Surviving: son, Kyle of Leivasy, Nicholas County; daughters, Mrs. Watha Simmons of Smoot, Mrs. Kathleen Shoemaker of Belle; sisters, Mrs. Ada Yoakum and Mrs. Etta Zopp, both of Rupert, brother, Ermil of Rupert; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Smathers Funeral Home, with the Rev. P.E. Orndoff and Evangelist Cobert Zopp officiating. Burial will be in End of the Trail Cemetery at Clintonville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
