BECKLEY - Carlos O'Dell Plumley, 76, of Beckley died Aug. 31, 1999, at home after a long illness.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he was awarded three Bronze Stars. He was a former employee of Beckley Carburetor and Electric and Bair Brothers Inc. He was a former shop foreman for Grady Whitock and Mountaineer Inc. He was a member and trustee of Memorial Baptist Church, and a member of American Legion Post 32 and White Oak Game Association.
Surviving: wife, Geneva Johnson Plumley; son, Carlos Jr. of Oak Hill; sister, Ruby Brammer of Beaver; brother, Russell Dale of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Baptist Church, Beckley, with the Rev. Paul Blizard officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Melton Mortuary, Beckley, and one hour prior to service at the church. The family suggests donations to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25801-1472.
