Rites Set Today For Rev. Britt
OAK HILL (RNS) - Funeral services for the Rev. Henry Frankin Britt, 45, of Dothan, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Dothan Community Church by the Rev. Albino George of Pembrooke, Va., and Evangelist Roseman Armstrong of Smithers.
Burial will follow in the High Lawn Memorial Park here. Oak Hill Lodge No. 120, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, will conduct graveside rites and furnish pallbearers.
Mr. Britt died at 7:10 am Friday in the Oak Hill Hospital of injuries received while at work in the New River Co. mine at Carlisle, where he was employed as a machine operator.
An ordained minister, he was member of the Church of Jesus Christ. He was born May 11, 1911 at Prudence, a son of the late Henry Anderson and Anna Powers Britt.
He was a member UMWA Local Union No. 5047 at Carlisle and the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120, AF & AM.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Britt; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Smith of Scarbro and Mrs. Alice Buschelman of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Dennie of Wriston; a half-brother, Ed Crouch of Hurricane; two sons, A 1-c James L. Britt, stationed at London, Engand, and Guss Britt of Woronoco, Mass.; and one grandchild.
The body was removed from the Tyree Funeral Home to the residence at 5 p.m. Saturday and will taken to the church one hour before services.
Masonic lodge members who plan to attend the funeral were requested to meet at the lodge hall at 12:30 p.m.
