Elizabeth C. Skaggs passed away on Feb. 27, 2006, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
Elizabeth was born in Corliss on May 26, 1912. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Anthony Skaggs; her husband, Julian Cuthbert Skaggs; her parents, Myrth B. and Stella E. Callison; three brothers and three sisters.
Elizabeth is survived by her four children, Julian C. Skaggs of Opossum Creek, Martha S. Craver of San Antonio, Texas, Geoffrey B. Skaggs of Ansted and Elizabeth S. Bridgeman of Charleston; as well as her two sisters, Mary Louise Maroney of Charleston and Martha Thornton of Beckley. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was a homemaker until age 65. At an age when most people retire, she was employed as the nutrition site manager for the Fayette County Nutrition Program in Ansted until she retired at the age of 80.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Ansted, with Pastor Phillip Dent and the Rev. Roy G. Crist officiating.
