MARYVILLE, Mo. - John Roy Kieser, 79, Maryville, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at a Maryville hospital.
Mr. Kieser was manager of Thomas Market, Maryville, for 30 years before retiring in 1984.
Born on Jan. 16, 1922, in Cosby, Mo., he graduated from Central High School, St. Joseph.
He was a member of the Maryville First Baptist Church; Nodaway Masonic Lodge No. 470 AF & AM, Maryville; Scottish Rite Bodies and Moila Temple, both of St. Joseph; and Maryville Elks Lodge.
On March 28, 1941, he married Lora L. Crane in St. Joseph. She died in 1984. He then married Vivian A. Sears on Sept. 16, 1989 in Maryville. She survives of the home. Mr. Kieser was also preceded in death by his parents, John R. Sr. and Iva I.
Additional survivors: two sons, Jan Kieser, Phoenix, and Mark Kieser, Kansas City, Mo.; a step-son, Kirtley Thomas, Kansas City; a stepdaughter, Kathy Wiseman, Kansas City, and two step-grandchildren.
Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Maryville First Baptist Church. Burial: Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville. Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements: Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Memorials: to the church or donor?s choice.
