ORANGE, Va. — Asilee Dillon Sims Harper, 79, formerly of Rainelle, passed
away Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, following a lengthy illness.
Born on Sept. 22, 1927, in Greenbrier County, she was a daughter of the late
Maynard and Ora Adkins Dillon.
Mrs. Harper was a homemaker and a member of the Rainelle Sewell Valley
Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands,
Richard (Dick) Harper and Bentley Wilson Sims, father of their children;
three brothers, Lewis, James and Leslie Dillon and a sister, Eunice Simms.
Survivors include a son, Carlisle Sims and wife, Jackie of Richmond, Va.; a
daughter, Charlene Preston and husband, Dan of Orange, Va.; four brothers,
Bill Dillon of White Sulphur Springs, Bob and Jimmy Dillon of Baltimore,
Md., Carl Garrett of New Freedom, Pa.; three sisters, Pauline Goddard of
Baltimore, Md., Ruth Stevens of Oak Harbor, Wash. and Gaye Tumidajewicz of
Chicopee, Mass.; a grandson, Dustin Sims, and a granddaughter, Amanda Sims,
both of Richmond, Va.; a great-grandson, Kyler Sims of Richmond, Va.; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Smathers Funeral Chapel with the Rev.
Milburn Pack officiating. Burial will follow in Sewell Valley Baptist Church
Cemetery at Rainelle.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
