- Obituary -- Harriet Mae Smith Helems
Harriet Mae Helems, 62, of Beaver, formerly of Quinwood, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997, in a Charleston hospital following a short illness.
Born July 23, 1935, in Greenbrier County, she was the daughter of the late Harry Neal and Martha Whitlock Smith.
Mrs. Helems attended the Beaver United Methodist Church, was a homemaker and had been a resident of Beaver since 1969.
She was preceded in death by her brother Harry Neal "Brother" Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Romia W. Helems; two daughters, Rebecca Settle of Oak Hill and Pamela Martin of Beckley; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
