- Obituary for Dorothy Jean Thomas Dorsey
RUPERT – Jean Dorsey, 65, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at her home following a long illness.
Born March 27, 1934, in Crawley, she was the daughter of Fanny Thomas of Crawley and the late Ray Thomas.
Mrs. Dorsey was a member of the Bascom United Methodist Church. She was associated with J.I. Dorsey General Store in Rupert until its closure.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Merl Dorsey Sr.
Survivors include a son, Richard M. Dorsey Jr. and wife, Leah, of Glenville; two daughters, Terri Fishman and husband, Morris, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Jeanie Morrison and husband, Jeff, of Rupert; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday [Dec. 11th] at Smathers Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Revs. Jerry Dotson and Mark Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Smathers Funeral Home, Rainelle.
