- Obituary -- Bessie Reynolds Crane Johnson
Rupert -- Mrs. Bess Crane Johson, 102, died Saturday, Septemebr 8, 1990, in a Ronceverte hospital, following a short illness.
Born Septemebr 7, 1888, at Rupert, she was the daughter of the late Dexter T. Crane and Cora Moses Crane.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker, and was retired from the Greenbrier County Board of Education. She was employed by Rupert High School and was a member of the Bascom United Methodist Church of Ruipert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Alden Johnson, a son John Alden Johnson [Jr.], a brother, James Crane and a sister, Leda Hall.
Survivors include a grandson, Mike Johnson and wife Shelby of Charleston; a granddaughter, Mrs. John (Jeanne) Attilli of Beckley; three great-grandchildren, Amy Johson, and Marion and Nicky Attilli, and several nieces and nephews.
Service was at Bascom United Methodist Church with Reverends Eddie Keeney and Sterling Morgan officiating. Burial was at End of the Trail Cemetery in Clintonville.
