- Obituary -- Verona Orkney Cadle Meadows
RUPERT -- Verona Orkney Meadows, 93, died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, in a Fairlea care center following a long illness.
Born March 4, 1906, in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late William and Almeda Richmond Cadle.
Mrs. Meadows was a homemaker and a member of Sewell Valley Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Meadows, and a son, Frank N. Meadows.
Survivors include three daughters, Edith C. McClung and her husband, Fred, of McRoss, Ruth E. Wykle and her husband, Bill, of Rainelle, and Dorrinne Goddard and her husband, Eddie, of Chatanooga, Tenn.; four sons, John E. Meadows and his wife, Juanita, and Monroe Meadows and his wife, Diane, all of Meadow Bridge, Garland Meadows and his wife, Jeanette, of McRoss and Charles Meadows and his wife, Betty, of Rainelle; a sister, Lula Bennett of Hinton; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sewell Valley Baptist Church, Ranelle, with the Revs. Eddie Ray Goddard and James Yeargo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
