- Obituary -- Freda Louise Simms Sheaves
Freda Louise Sheaves, 81, of Danese passed away on Tuesday evening, October 3, 2023 at Rainelle Healthcare Center.
She was born on June 19, 1942 in Rainelle; she was the daughter of the late Howard Franklin Simms and Evelyn Louise McGuire Simms.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton “Claytie” Franklin Sheaves in 2017; a sister, Norma Barnett.
Freda attended the Faith Freewill Baptist church of Danese. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Survivors are a daughter, Donna Sheaves of Danese; a son, David Sheaves and wife Crystal of Danese; 2 grandchildren, Nicole (Caleb) Roach and Heather Erickson; 2 great grandchildren, Trey Erickson and Azula Roach; sisters; Linda (Larry) Church of Meadow Bridge and Karen Brant of Danese; brother, Darrell (Terry) Simms of Loops Road.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Allen Whitt officiating. Burial will follow at Smailes Cemetery, Landisburg. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rainelle Healthcare Center for the care they gave.

RAINELLE — Howard Franklin Simms, 90, of Loops Road, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2007, on his way home from Beckley, following a long illness.
Born April 7, 1917, on Simms Mountain, he was the son of the late Lue Alzo and Ida Garfield Cox Simms.
Mr. Simms had worked as a coal miner, farmer, and saw mill worker, during his lifetime, and was a Christian.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Louise McGuire Simms, in 2000; a sister, Beulah Kenney; a brother, Wilson Simms; and a granddaughter, Beverly Redden Morrell.
Survivors include four daughters, Freda Sheaves and husband, Clayton, of Danese, Linda Church and husband, Larry, of Meadow Bridge, Karen Brant and husband, Delbert, of Danese, and Gathalee Barnett and companion, John Ondo, of Danese; a son, Darrell H. Simms and wife, Carolyn, of Danese; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Pastor Allen Whitt officiating. Burial will follow at H. Simms Cemetery, Loops Road, W.Va.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
