- Obituary -- David Garland Spangler
WELLSVILLE - David G. Spangler, 56, of Wellsville, died at 4:41 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley E. (Einsig) Spangler. The couple observed their 34th wedding anniversary July 22.
The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will be in Dover Union Cemetery. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Spangler was born Jan. 2, 1945, in York. He was the son of the late Jacob R. and Mildred Z. (Crane) Spangler.
He was a carpenter millwright for York Carpenters Local 191. He was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791, Yellow Breeches Angler Club and Wellsville Fire Company; a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association; and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Spangler also is survived by two daughters, Dawn M. Christy of Dover and Kristy A. Spangler of Wellsville; a granddaughter; two brothers, Larry R. Spangler of Wellsville and Lewis G. Spangler of St. George, Utah; and two sisters, Hazel A. Ewell of Wellsville and Theda A. Lauer of Dover.
