- Obituary -- James Dorsey McClung
James Dorsey “J.D.” McClung, 77, of Rupert passed away on Tuesday night, August 24, 2021 at Peyton Hospice House.
Born on May 12, 1944, he was the son of the late Frank McClung and June Walker McClung.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Scotty McClung and George Wayne Sams.
J.D. was a member of the Sewell Valley Baptist Church and he was a mail carrier for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Patricia “Patsy” Hunter McClung; daughter, Cindy (Doug) Burns of Dawson; sisters, Jewell (Billy) Sams of Hopkins SC, Judy Nutter of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Brad Burns, Chassity (Evertt) Heimberger both of Dawson, Derrick (Jennifer) Burns of Stuarts Draft, VA; great grandchildren, Caden , Devin and Willa. He also leaves behind a special friend and caretaker, Carrie Brandstetter, several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville with Pastor Benney Allen officiating
