- Obituay -- Jacob Richard Spangler
DOVER - Jacob R. Spangler, 87, of Dover, died at 8 p.m. Sunday at Fairview Village Nursing Home.
He was the husband of the late Mildred Z. (Crane) Spangler.
The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover.
Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Spangler was born Jan. 10, 1910, in Mount Royal.
He was the son of the late Charles and Edna A. Snyder Spangler.
He worked for Met Ed, where he was a chief linesman, retiring in 1972, after 32 years of service. He was a member of West Manchester Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7474 and Shiloh American Legion Post 791.
Mr. Spangler is survived by four sons, Larry R. Spangler, Charlie H. Spangler and David G. Spangler, all of Wellsville, and Lewis G. Spangler of St. George, Utah; two daughters, Hazel A. Ewell of New Castle, Del., and Theda Lauer of Dover; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
