- Obituary -- Walter Ray Gibson
Ray Gibson, 76, of Panama City Beach, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at his home.
Ray was born in Panama City, FL, and grew up in Cantonment, FL. After graduating from Tate High School, he joined the US Marine Corps, where he was a member of the 8th and I Presidential Guard from 1959-1961. After his military service, Ray worked with paper mills throughout the US for over 40 years. He was Methodist by faith.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Gibson.
Survivors include his children, Kurt Gibson (Debbie) of Alpharetta, GA and Sherri McHugh (John) of Panama City Beach; a brother, Ralph Gibson, Jr. (Linda) of Miami, FL; his sister, Marilyn Richard (Mike) of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Ashley Millican, Kristi Wheat, Caitlin and Emma Gibson and Brittany and Brian LeCroy; great-grandchildren, Bella, Kylie, Chadd, Brinkley and Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2016, at the Rose Lawn Cemetery, Gulf Breeze, FL, with Rev. Dan Mixon officiating.
