    • Obituary -- Rev. Sering Dunham Wilson, Jr.

      Rev. S. Dunham Wilson, age 76, passed away April 11, 2004 in Boswell Hospital, Sun City, Az. He was born July 27, 1927 in Greenwich Village, New York. He lived 11 yrs. in Arizona. He was from Ojai, California.

      Rev. Wilson was an Episcopal Priest for 42 years. He served in the U.S. Navy WW II in 1945. He attended Lawrenceville Preparatory School for Princeton University. He was a graduate of Princeton Univeristy 1949, and ...Princeton Theological Seminary [which] ordained Episcopal priests.

      Curate at All Saints, Beverly Hills, CA 1962- 1965, Rector of St. Jude's Episcopal Church in Burbank, CA 1965 - 1973. Priest in New Mexico 1974 - 1986.

      Survived by spouse: Elizabeth R. Wilson, Sun City West, AZ; Three children, Heather Starr Wilson Olson, Burbank, CA; Sons Mark Dunham Wilson, Savannah, GA and Matthew McKendry Wilson, Grants Pass, OR; Two sisters: Constance Cassin, Carlsbad, CA & Jacqueline Stanley, Pacific Palisades, CA; Grandchildren: Jeremy Oldson [sic], Burbank, CA & Sarah Oldson [sic], Tuscon, AZ

      Memorial Mass at St, Jude's Episcopal Church, Burbank, CA where he was rector 1965 - 1973.

      Mother was Faire Binney and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was a silent film star in the 1920s. [Editor's note: Faire was not the recipient of that star; it was her sister Constance. Faire did have a film carrer in the 1920s.]

      All memorial contributions go to Princeton Theological Seminary. [There is a list of memberships].

      As a child, his neighbor was Dr. Albert Einstein. Dunham at the time was 6 years old. They took many walks together on Dunham's estate. Einstein, better known as Gramps, took Dunham sailing on his boat. Later in life he would see Gramps walking around Princeton in his socks.
